Kejriwal to personally appear before Delhi HC again
NEW DELHI [Maha Media]: Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is set to appear in person before the Delhi High Court on Monday for the second time, seeking the recusal of Justice Swarnakanta Sharma from hearing a case related to the alleged excise policy matter.
The hearing on Kejriwal’s recusal plea is scheduled for 2:30 PM, where he is expected to present his arguments himself, according to party sources.
Last Monday, Kejriwal had also appeared personally before the High Court during the initial hearing of the applications seeking Justice Sharma’s recusal.
The matter stems from a February 27 trial court order that discharged Kejriwal along with 22 others in the alleged excise policy corruption case. The appeal against that order is currently listed before Justice Sharma, who handles criminal cases involving MPs and MLAs.
Multiple applications, including one filed by Kejriwal, have requested that Justice Sharma step aside from the case. Monday’s hearing marks the second round of proceedings on the issue.
