VRINDAVAN [Maha Media]: A large number of devotees participated in the Holi Utsav held at Banke Bihari Temple in Vrindavan of Mathura district, ahead of the Holi festival which falls next week.

Devotees were seen playing holi with gulal. The priests at the temple were also seen throwing gulal on the devotees who arrived at the Banke Bihari Temple on Friday. The devotees also offered their prayers to the Lord Krishna during the visit.

Earlier in the day, Naga sadhus and other saints also celebrated Rangbhari Ekadashi with great fervour and devotion in Ayodhya, playing Holi with gulal and the holy flag (nishan) of the Hanumangarhi Temple.

On the auspicious occasion, saints gathered at the Hanumangarhi Temple and applied gulal to each other, marking the beginning of the Holi festivities in the temple town.

Speaking with the news agency, National President of Sankat Mochan Sena (Hanumangarhi Temple), Mahant Sanjay Das Ji Maharaj, said that as per tradition, the saints took out the Panchkoshi Parikrama carrying the symbol of Lord Hanuman on their shoulders.

"Today, on the occasion of Rangbhari Ekadashi, all the saints of Ayodhya went to the temples and applied gulal... We are taking out the Panchkoshi Parikrama like every year... We are carrying the symbol of Lord Hanuman on our shoulders, making it take a dip in Ganga Ji, after that we take a dip in the form of Prasad," he said.

Rangbhari Ekadashi holds special significance in Ayodhya and marks the ceremonial beginning of Holi celebrations, with saints and devotees participating in rituals and religious processions across the city.

If Bhadra is getting over after midnight, then only Holika Dahan should be done in Bhadra and preferably during Bhadra Punchha. BHOPAL [Maha Media]: The Sahasrasheersha Devi Mandal (SDM), the female wing of the Maharishi World Peace Movement, celebrated the New Year with slum children at the Fly Foundation, which is run by Ms. Divya Yadav in Harshvardhan Nagar, Bhopal.

The Fly Foundation is an NGO established in April 2020 that focuses on improving the lives of underprivileged children through education and menstrual hygiene awareness in slum areas.

The program began with an introduction of the slum children. During the celebration, cloth carpets, various stationery items, biscuits, and sweets were distributed to the children at the Fly Foundation. BHOPAL (Maha Media): The two-day "Gyan Yug Diwas" celebrations started today in Bhopal, honoring the 109th birthday of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Ji, the greatest scientist of Consciousness in the world. The event began with a Guru Pujan and Vedic Shanti Path , featuring Vedic chants by Maharishi Vedic Pandits, which created a serene and peaceful atmosphere. Guests and dignitaries were welcomed to the stage, marking a day focused on combining ancient wisdom with modern ideas. 

In the opening session, Hon'ble Chairman Brahmachari Girish addressed the audience, paying tribute to Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Ji’s work in promoting Vedic science and Indian culture. He emphasized that today is a sacred and joyful day, celebrating the life of Maharishi Ji, who shared his knowledge worldwide. Over 51 years, he travelled to more than 200 countries, spreading Indian spirituality and Transcendental Meditation, and proudly representing India on the global stage.

Brahmachari Girish Ji expressed pride in being messengers of world peace under Maharishi Ji’s guidance. He highlighted the importance of including children and teachers in their programs so as to pass this spiritual wisdom to future generations. He also remembered Swami Vivekananda on his birthday, noting that both leaders aimed to share Indian values globally.

Brahmachari Ji mentioned Maharishi Ji’s humility. He preferred not to be worshipped or called a "Guru." For Maharishi Ji, his Guru, Swami Brahmananda Saraswati Ji Maharaj, was everything. He taught that true blessings and success come from serving the "Guru’s feet," not the person.

Girish Ji urged that today’s global conflicts stem from powerful nations' expansionist mindsets. He recalled how Maharshi Ji used Vedic knowledge and Yagyas to prevent wars and that his organization continues to seek world peace. He noted the rising negative influences in the world, suggesting that divine intervention may be necessary once again. He highlighted Yoga and Yagya as the true paths to peace and praised Prime Minister Modi for promoting Yoga and Meditation globally.

Through Maharshi schools and institutes, people learn Transcendental Meditation and Siddhi programs to uplift society. Currently, 1,300 Vedic Pandits are performing Atirudra Abhishek in Jabalpur to help reduce global negativity. Girish Ji pointed out that our attraction to material things causes stress today. He encouraged everyone to remember Maharshi Ji’s work and commit to finishing his goals. Madhusudan Deshpande, Founder of Ojas Foundation, talked about the Ayurvedic work being done by the Ojas Foundation and Maharishi Sansthan. Recently, they held an essay competition on Ayurveda. Awards were given out for the competition today. In the post-graduate category, Shilpa Yadav won first place, with Raveena Jain and Shraddha Patil finishing second and third. During the two-day celebration, Brahmachari Girish will detail Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's global efforts in championing Indian culture, Vedic science, and meditation, followed by a keynote address from Deputy CM Rajendra Shukla on the Maharishi's enduring legacy.

As part of the proceedings, a significant seminar titled "Establishing World Peace through Science and Technology" will feature a distinguished panel of national and international scholars and scientists. According to the intricate calculations of the Hindu calendar, the sun will enter Capricorn on January 14th. This astronomical shift marks the beginning of a very auspicious time, known as Punya Kaal, which lasts for 16 sacred hours. Furthermore, this festival marks the end of an inauspicious period called Kharmas, which begins in mid-December. The revered epic, the Mahabharata, underscores the significance of this festival, recounting how Bhishma Pitamah, despite his grievous wounds, chose to relinquish his mortal body only after the arrival of Uttarayan, believing it to be the most auspicious moment to attain moksha (liberation).

Makar Sankranti Rituals
On this sacred day, devotees rise before dawn and immerse themselves in a ritualistic bath, preferably in the waters of a holy river. Those unable to reach such sacred places are encouraged to add a few drops of Ganges water to their bathwater. After bathing, people should wear clean clothes and apply a tilak of roli and rice on their foreheads.

During the puja, a copper pot filled with water is adorned with roli, fragrant flowers, jaggery, and black sesame seeds. Facing east, devotees offer water to the rising sun, chanting "Om Suryaya Namah" or "Om Ghrini Suryaya Namah," and respectfully keep their heads covered throughout the puja. It is also advised to avoid Tamasic (heavy, non-vegetarian) food on this auspicious day.

Each month has one Amavasya, but the Amavasya in the month of Magh is regarded as especially auspicious and beneficial. The Amavasya in this month is known as Mauni Amavasya or Maghi Amavasya. It is believed that the waters of the Ganges on this day are as purifying as nectar. Bathing in the Ganges on this day is said to grant endless merit and brings mental peace and spiritual benefits.

On Mauni Amavasya, large numbers of devotees come to take a dip at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. During the Magh Mela, special rituals and bathing ceremonies are performed. On this day, people not only take part in bathing and charitable acts but also perform certain rituals for the peace of their ancestors' souls and for relief from ancestral afflictions or Pitru Dosha.

When is Mauni Amavasya 2026?
According to the Vedic calendar, Mauni Amavasya will be observed on 18 January 2026.

Daan (charity) and snan (ritual bath) is performed on Amavasya. On this day, devotees bathe in the Triveni Sangam and the Ganges. It is considered a holy and beneficial day, and rituals such as snan followed by daan is believed to help overcome Pitru Dosha.

Ways to Overcome Pitru Dosha on Mauni Amavasya
* Offer rituals to the ancestors: The most important practice on Mauni Amavasya to seek peace and blessings from ancestors is performing pind-daan, shraadh, and tarpan. These rituals please our ancestors and remove Pitru Dosha. If you are facing obstacles in life, then performing these rituals is said to reduce them.
* Offer Food to the Ancestors: According to Vedic beliefs, Amavasya is the day when ancestors come to visit their descendants on Earth. Offering food to ancestors is believed to bring their blessings, and brings abundance to your life.
* Light an Oil Lamp Under the Peepal tree: On the evening of Mauni Amavasya, lighting a diya (lamp) with mustard oil under a Peepal tree is recommended. The Peepal tree is regarded as the dwelling of deities. Lighting a diya, is said to bring peace to the soul of ancestors.

Worshipping Lord Vishnu on these days is believed to bring great spiritual merit. Shattila Ekadashi is observed during the Krishna Paksha in the month of Magh. One of the most important aspects of this Ekadashi is the use of sesame seeds or til. It's believed that an offering of food made from sesame seeds to Lord Vishnu, helps in spiritual merit. It is also recommended to donate sesame seeds on this day. This fast is believed to invoke the blessings of Lakshmi Narayan and bring happiness and prosperity into one’s life.

"The name itself reveals its special importance: 'Shat' means six, and 'Tila' means sesame seeds (til). On this day, there is a tradition of using sesame in six ways. Scriptures state that sesame is extremely dear to Lord Vishnu, and its use destroys poverty, eradicates sins, and brings happiness and prosperity," states the website of Narayan Seva Sansthan.

Shattila Ekadashi is a festival of purification on the levels of mind, speech, and actions.

BHOPAL [Maha Media]: The Maharishi National Cultural Celebration (MNCC) 2025 wrapped up on Thursday at the Maharishi Centre for Educational Excellence (MCEE) in Bhopal. The event was filled with excitement and devotion on its final day, which included honoring outstanding students and teachers.

The Valedictory Program began with the arrival of the Honorable Chairman of the Maharishi Vidya Mandir Group, Ved Vidya Martand Brahmachari Girish Ji, and Chief Guest Shri Vishwas Sarang Ji, the Honorable Minister for Sports, Youth Welfare, and Cooperation in Madhya Pradesh. After welcoming the guests, Shri V.R. Khare Ji, Director of CPR, shared a report on MNCC 2025, noting the achievements and the vibrant spirit of the event.

In his address, Brahmachari Girish Ji thanked Chief Guest Shri Vishwas Sarang for being part of the celebration. He shared that children from 52 schools in 14 states participated. Over the previous two days, these students took part in various activities, including cultural performances, meditation, yoga, and debates. He emphasized that all kids present were winners by qualifying through regional competitions and were now excited for the awards.

Brahmachari Girish Ji explained the Maharishi Institute's focus on consciousness-based education. Students practice Transcendental Meditation twice a day, study Vedic Science, and learn Sanskrit as a required subject. He mentioned that this educational approach is used in about 78 countries and aims to involve parents and the larger community. He compared the Maharishi community to a Cultural Kumbh, a large gathering of different cultures.

Girish Ji also mentioned a future program that will offer Global Leadership training for students after 12th grade. This program requires an eight-year commitment and aims to develop students into leaders who promote world peace.

Chief Guest Shri Vishwas Sarang delivered an inspiring speech, praising Brahmachari Girish Ji and the institute for promoting Indian values and culture through meditation. He noted, "He has a very pleasant personality. Just looking at him, it feels like people like you can give the right direction to society and bring about change in the world."

BHOPAL [Maha Media]: The three-day Maharishi National Cultural Celebration 2025 commenced with great enthusiasm at the Maharishi Centre for Educational Excellence (MCEE) in Bhopal on Tuesday.

The inaugural function was honored by the inspiring presence of Ved Vidya Martand Brahmachari Girish Ji, the Chairman of the Maharishi Group of Educational Institutions.

In his speech inaugurating the event, Brahmachari Girish Ji first welcomed all the students participating in this divine cultural celebration, calling them winners. "You are all winners. You did not come here for competition; you have already faced and won that challenge. That is why we do not call it the Maharishi National Cultural Competition; we named it the Maharishi National Cultural Celebration. Competition is something we face every day, every moment in our lives. We have solutions to face the competition and guidelines for that. You do not need to do anything for any competition; you are already trained in it. Every day, twice a day, morning and evening, you practice Transcendental Meditation, the TM Siddhi Program, and Yogic Flying. That is the key to facing and winning the competition. Maharishi has provided a phrase: competition is for competent people, not for incompetent people. Through our morning and evening practice, diving deep into transcendental consciousness, we train ourselves to be competent and, therefore, do not have to worry about competition."

Brahmachari Ji emphasized pride in their heritage, saying, "We are proud to be bearers of Indian culture because we are advancing the knowledge we received from our Gurudev Brahmanand Saraswati and Param Pujya Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Ji." BHOPAL (Maha Media): The Maharishi National Cultural Celebration (MNCC) will take place from November 11th to 13th at the Maharishi Center for Educational Excellence in Lambakheda, Bhopal. This yearly event showcases the talent of students from Maharishi Vidya Mandir schools across the country.

The opening ceremony will feature Brahmachari Girish Ji, Chairman of the Maharishi Vidya Mandir Schools Group, as the Chief Guest on Tuesday at 11:00 AM.

About 500 students, both boys and girls, from various Maharishi Vidya Mandir schools will participate in this celebration. Over the three days, they will display their skills in music, dance, and theater, highlighting their dedication and hard work.

Ved Vidya Martand Brahmachari Girish Ji, head of the institute, extended heartfelt greetings to all Indian citizens on the birth anniversary of the Ramayana author.

The celebration honours the sage's timeless teachings of truth, righteousness, and compassion, which continue to inspire generations.

This initiative aimed to educate local farmers, women, and youth on essential topics related to water management, conservation, and the sustainable use of groundwater resources.

85 participants from all over India are attending MWPA. The assembly will continue till 29th September where knowledge of life oriented different Vedic subjects will be presented to participants. The day has started with offering Surya Arghya, practice of TM and TM-Siddh Programme, Yogic Flying, listening Vishnu Sahasranam, then attending Chandi Yagya. After lunch Brahmachari Girish Ji has shared the history of Maharishi Global Organisation which was very impressive and informative to all participants. Few have mentioned that today they have received lot of new information about Maharishi ji and his plans and programmes which are continuing now under the leadership of Brahmachari Girish Ji. 

“One single person His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Ji has done so much for the world in only 50 years of time. We can together may continue now to take care of offering Vedic knowledge to masses around the world for the stress free, blissful, peaceful, healthy, prosperous life of all dear world family members.” Said Girish Ji in his inaugural address. He has invited everyone to join him full time or part time to be a team member to bring enlightenment to every individual and gift invincibility to all nations, establishing Heavenly Life on Earth.  

Prof. Bhuvensh Sharma has reminded all of very pure and deep Vedic knowledge Maharishi Ji unfolded in simple and easy manner and welcomed all to enjoy benefit of this knowledge and also share this knowledge with everyone else. He said this is the a big need of time. 

Shri VR Khare has given detailed information of the assembly and said that everyone will enjoy next seven days, it will be unique life time experience. 

BHOPAL (Maha Media):The nine-day Navratri festival began today with the ceremonial Ghatasthapana at Maharishi Bliss Residency (MBR), Bhopal. The event marks the inauguration of the Maharishi World Peace Assembly, which is being attended by 85 participants

The ceremony included the installation of idols of deities including Durga Ji, Lakshmi Ji, Saraswati Ji, Ganapati Ji, Kartikeya Ji, and Shiv Ji. As part of the festivities, a Chandi Yagya is also being performed by Maharishi Vedic Pundits, which will continue throughout the duration of the assembly

The auspicious Kalash Yatra and installation ceremony were conducted in the presence of several esteemed guests. These included Prof. Bhuvnesh Sharma, former Vice-Chancellor of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Vedic Vishwavidyalaya; Shri V.R. Khare, Director of the CPR Maharishi Vidya Mandir Schools Group; Shri Ranjan Singh Patwari, National Coordinator of Consciousness-based Education; and Smt. Anita Bhargava, TM and TM Siddhi Administrator

All participants, along with faculty members and staff, actively took part in the Kalash Yatra and the ceremony. The assembly is scheduled to continue until September 29th.

BHOPAL (Maha Media): The two-day Maharishi Kids Home National Cultural Celebration 2025 wrapped up with excitement and joy at Maharishi Kids Home in Ayodhyanagar, Bhopal, on Tuesday. On the final day, young children from Maharishi Kids Home performed in colorful costumes, showing impressive confidence. Their performances touched the hearts of many in the audience, and some moments even brought tears of joy.

   This celebration began with Guru Pujan and warm welcome of guests followed by Vedic chanting performed by Maharishi Vedic Pundits. The day also included a heartfelt welcome song by the students of Maharishi Kids Home, followed by bhajans and motivational songs.

      During the closing ceremony, Ved Vidya Martand Brahmachari Girish Ji, Chairman of the Maharishi Vidya Mandir School Group, spoke about the importance of celebrating the children's performances. He highlighted that young children are innocent and learn quickly from what they are taught, which is their true strength. At Maharishi Kids Home, the focus is not just on practical skills and academic knowledge. While many parents want their children to learn English well, it is equally important to teach them values that can improve their lives. Children need these values to develop self-awareness, which helps guide their actions throughout life.

       Girish Ji shared a Vedic saying, “Manasi Ekam, Vachsi Ekam, Karmani Ekam Mahatmanam,” meaning that a great and truthful person thinks, speaks, and acts in harmony. Our goal is to raise children to be those true individuals, not ascetics. We want them to imbibe good Sanskaras and qualities while reducing less desirable traits and ensuring honesty in all their actions. 

    In 1990, Maharishi Ji encouraged us to open Maharishi Vidya Mandir schools across the country. Today, we have over 200 MVM schools in India, and seven years ago, we started Maharishi Kids Home, with plans to grow this number to 200 in very near future.

   Brahmachari Girish Ji also noted that our social culture is changing for the worse, making it important for every parent and family member to help ensure that our educated children grow into cultured citizens, full of divine values. Their lives should be ideal, contributing to a better society. To achieve this, we launched the Maharishi Aadarsh Bharat Abhiyan ten years ago, and it was relaunched on August 25 this year. Our efforts aim to build an ideal India so that when children grow up, they find a supportive environment. We must work together toward this goal, as negative influences have to be removed at all cost. It is crucial to raise children with cultural values, guiding them to practice daily worship, meditation, and yoga, which will help them improve.

On August 25, we launched the Maharishi World Plan, which has attracted participation from 52 countries so far. If 100 countries join by the upcoming Vijayadashami, we will organize a world-level conference, Girish Ji added.

Brahmachari Girish Ji thanked all the parents of the children at Maharishi Kids Home, reminding them how fortunate they are to have chosen Maharishi Sansthan for their children's education. He also praised the teachers for their role in nurturing the children's growth.

Shri V R Khare, Director CPR addressed the gathering, praising the beautiful and impressive performances of the children over the two days. The entire program was rich in cultural values, mentioning that the children of Maharishi Kids Home know the Gayatri Mantra and the Bhojan and Snan Mantras, which is truly remarkable. He reiterated Girish Ji's wish to instill Indian values in all children at school level. This was the fifth national level cultural celebration of Maharishi Kids Home, which started in 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic. He commended all parents for encouraging their children to participate and praised venue principal Anjali Singh for her caring approach and excellent management of the program.

At the end of the event, Brahmachari Girish Ji presented prizes to the children for their outstanding performances.
 

BHOPAL [Maha Media]: The two-day National Cultural Festival commenced today at Maharishi Kids Home Ayodhya Nagar in Bhopal. The event showcased vibrant performances by young children from Maharishi Kids Home schools across the country.

During the inauguration, Ved Vidya Martand Brahmachari Girish Ji, Chairman of the Maharishi Vidya Mandir School Group, shared a message emphasizing Maharishi Ji's strong belief in instilling traditional Indian values in children from a young age. This foundational principle is intended to help children grow into exemplary global citizens. To realize this vision, Brahmachari Girish Ji initiated the establishment of Maharishi Kids Homes nationwide, aiming to provide value-based education alongside modern schooling. This includes teachings such as the Gayatri Mantra, meal prayers, and regular practice of Transcendental Meditation. The cultural festival is part of the effort to ensure the holistic development of children.

The program began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Shri Vijay Ratna Khare, Director of Communications and Public Relations for the Maharishi Vidya Mandir School Group; Smt. Rita Prakasham, Joint Director of the Maharishi Institute; and Smt. Anjali Singh Kushwaha, Principal of Maharishi Kids Home.

The event kicked off with a group dance competition featuring the Kilkari Group. Group A performed a captivating dance rich in expressions, and the children’s playful performances received high praise. This was followed by a group dance by seven girls from School Code B, while School Code C showcased another group of seven girls in matching outfits, which was a highlight of their presentation. School Code D's group of eight children enchanted the audience with a melodious performance, exhibiting perfect rhythm, melody, and beat. Next, School Code E's group dance, themed around "Shri Krishna Krishna," featured three boys and three girls and beautifully captured the essence of Radha and Krishna, leaving a lasting impression.

School Code F presented a mixed team of four boys and four girls, highlighting rural culture through their attire and a performance that depicted rural lifestyles. Similarly, the teams from the Kilkari Group, ranging from Code A to F, delivered outstanding vocal performances. In particular, Team Code F's rendition of "Aage Aage Maiya Piche Piche Chote Bhai" stood out due to the children’s flawless rhythm and melody. A solo performance by a child from School Code E conveyed a passionate patriotic message with the song "Yeh Mera India, I Love India." In the solo dance category, a girl from Group C delivered an expressive and rhythmic performance. Following her, a solo dance from Group D showcased precise footwork and expressions while balancing a 'matki' (earthen pot).

School Code F’s solo dance, featuring royal costumes, made a significant impact. Additionally, a boy from School Code E creatively explained traffic rules using pictures and colors. The cultural festival continued with a series of impressive shloka and poetry recitals by children from School Codes A to F.

The National Cultural Festival commenced in accordance with the Maharishi tradition, starting with Guru Pujan, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. The judging panel for the event included Smt. Ranjit Kaur, a retired principal, and Smt. Sadhna Dubey, a retired teacher.
 

BHOPAL [Maha Media]: The Anant Chaturdashi festival was celebrated with Vedic rituals dedicated to Lord Vishnu by Vedic pandits at Maharishi Utsav Bhavan, Brahmanand Saraswati Ashram in Bhopal and all other Maharishi campuses across the country. 

On this occasion, Ved Vidya Martand Brahmachari Girish Ji, the head of the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Sansthan, said, "We are all fortunate to have so many Vedic festivals throughout the year where we receive blessings by worshipping various gods and goddesses. These blessings grant us the opportunity to live a life of success and joy." He added that such a golden opportunity to awaken self-consciousness is not found in any other culture or tradition. "Only Sanatanis in Sanatan Dharma receive this blessing from nature."

The worship ceremony on Anant Chaturdashi was performed with complete Vedic rituals at all Maharishi campuses, with a large number of Maharishi Sansthan officials and employees participating enthusiastically. 

After the puja, prasad was distributed to all those present. The ceremony was also live-streamed on the Ramraj TV website, YouTube, and Facebook channels.
