UP: Case registered over objectionable social media posts on Hindu deities
BHADOHI [Maha Media]: An FIR has been registered against an unidentified person for allegedly posting objectionable remarks about Hindu deities on social media in Uttar Pradesh's Bhadohi district, officials said on Thursday.
The case was lodged on Wednesday at Gopiganj police station on the complaint of district social media cell in-charge Inspector Praveen Kumar Rai against an unknown person operating a Facebook account named 'Gareeb Gautam Videos'.
A video containing objectionable comments about Hindu deities and also showing alleged tampering with idols had been circulated through the said Facebook account, police said.
